Banned Books Week:
September 23, 2013
-Captain Underpants by: Dav Pilkey... I was shocked to see this book on the banned books listed because I used to read these books all the time when I was a kid.
-Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by: Mark Twain... This book being banned was not a surpise for me because of the rascim that is shown in the book.
-To Kill A Mockingbird by: Harper Lee... I really enjoyed this book when I had to read it for my english class. I can not see how this book was ever banned because of the great story that it told.

Social Media:
1.)Good Grades: Social Media for me is a big distraction. I feel like it brings down my grades and makes me procraste more. If there wasn't any more social media my grades would be way better.
2.)Extra Curriculars: Facebook and Twitter have become a part of people's after school life. Some people use it to promote for their after school activities.
3.)Emotions: Facebook has done a lot of damage emotional because of bullying and causing young students to commit suicde.
4.)Addiction: Facebook is addicting to me. I probably look at Facebook 10-15 times a day maybe more. To me Facebook keeps me more connected and aware of things that are happening.
5.) Self-Esteem: This goes back to the emotion part for me. It can bring a student down if they are feeling like a outcast or if they are popular it only makes them more cocky.
6.)Study Habits: I will admit if I didn't have social media I would probably study more and be better in class.

Social Bookmarking:people putting together their favorite sites and tagging them.
Delicious: You are able to save links that you want to revisit online. Kind of like Dropbox but it is only for links.
Reddit's: Stories that people read and are looked at the most.
StumbleUpon: Bookmarks that people are sharing.
Diigo: A site to do research.
Digg: News is put together by people who use social bookmarking.
Newsvine: nEws and opinion site that are submitted and voted by people.

iCyte -Similar to Diigo w/ the ability to annotate and then share or embed into a site.
Rooh.It - A great way to highlight content on the web and then share w/ others and add comments!
Trailmeme - An innovative site w/ a beautiful user interface for annotating web content and generating a unique user interface/path to follow.
Jog the Web - Similar to Trailmeme and very user friendly (nice Web 2.0 jogs to follow!!).
Pinboard - A very simple site to bookmark w/out all of the clutter that some of the more popular sites have. Also, works well w/ mobile devices!!
School Noodle - A great way for teachers to bookmarks sites and then share these resources w/ other educators!!
Krunchd - A nice way to take a collection of sites and create one unique URL for all of them.

Study Skills:
Study Jam: I like this site because you can play games and it looks like fun. It's not like boring looking where you don't want to go there to study. I would recommand this to friends if they need help study because it's not as boring as the others.
Braingenie:This site has a lot more options on it for more high school classes. This site is geared towards high schoolers more than any other grade. This one I would recommand because it has more help with pre cal and others like that.
Keyboard game: It was fun and lets people learn the keyboard better if they continue to use this site. This was a okay site I would probably get bored and I would not recommand it because it was too easy.
